Christianity and Islam are the top two most popular religions in the world. Their god demands that he is worshipped every Sunday. You are supposed to devote yourself to a cause of selflessness. Take not while you live because the true paradise is the one found in heaven.
Heaven which is also the rallying cry of ISIS terrorists everywhere because that is where they will finally get their 72 virgins. You’re supposed to deny temptation. Save it for heaven, the ultimate paradise. Be slain, but do not slay. Got problems? Pray to Jesus.
If you haven’t got the hint, I’m not fond of religion. Living while waiting to die, so you can go to paradise, isn’t my thing. I prefer the here and now because death is the only thing that’s certain.
Pick a Better God
If I were to choose a god, it would be Crom, the fictitious god of Conan the Barbarian. His name is to be cursed and used in vain. Crom sits atop a great mountain, mighty and strong. He doesn’t care if you live or die.
When you pray to Allah he sends you help. Help fosters the“I am weak and powerless,” mindset. When you pray to Crom, he sends you dooms. Better to not pray for him or he’ll make your plight worse. Save yourself!
This is what Robert E. Howard, the creator of Conan the Barbarian had to say about Crom:
“He dwells on a great mountain. What use to call on him? Little he cares if men live or die. Better to be silent than to call his attention to you; he will send you dooms, not fortune! He is grim and loveless, but at birth he breathes power to strive and slay into a man’s soul. What else shall men ask of the gods?”
Strive and Slay, the name and purpose of this website is inspired by Howard’s words. Crom’s purpose is to breathe the power to strive and slay into each man that is born. He ignites the fire that drives you to live!
Strive for greatness. Strive for bigger and better. Never stop chasing your goals. Do not settle for the path of least resistance. There is no honor in that. There is no story there to pass on.
Slay, slay your enemies, your obstacles, and your goals. Crom gives us the will to fight and the determination to win! The world isn’t what it is because of peace. War is the gears that turn the world-engine of change and growth. Crushing your enemies is happiness.
What is the better way to live the only life you got?
On the one hand, you live a life of selflessness and weakness. Deny your goals and temptations. Be poor, accept all that falls upon you as a test by god to see if you are faithful. Live miserable and die unhappy, you shall be rewarded in heaven.
On the other, you’re encouraged to live every day like it’s your last. To stretch your arms out, stick out your chest, and challenge the word to take what is yours! Strive and slay until you have conquered your enemies. It’s not enough to be strong. You have to destroy, dominate, and conquer.
If you have watched Conan the Barbarian, you know the only thing Crom values is valor. He will send you dooms to see if you can overcome. If you gain his attention, he will test your might. See if your worthy of living on.
More then likely, he’ll never notice you. He doesn’t care about you. He already gave you the power to strive and slay. Like Howard has said, “what else shall men ask of the gods?”
No one is going to save you but you. There’s no lottery ticket, inheritance, or random chance that will save you from fate. You’re going to die, how do you want to be remembered? What do you want your brothers and loved ones to say at your funeral?
What else?
Accept Crom into your heart today and crush your enemies tomorrow.
